Wetherspoons To Move Into Louth, Lincolnshire

Wetherspoons Come to Louth

The owners of Kai’s Bar Louth, the Kurnia Group, have confirmed that today, 11 February 2011, that they have sold their premises in Louth to the national managed pub operator JD Wetherspoon.

Kurnia bought the premises in 2000 when they were then known as Scarfes and after 3 months of renovation and structural works opened in the spring of 2000. Michael Kheng, director of the Kurnia Group, said;
He had enjoyed the 11 years at Kai’s Louth and thanked everyone that supported the bar over the time especially all that have ever been involved. We have been in discussions with JD Wetherspoon for some time now but contractually have been able to make any comments on who the new owners may be until today. It is great to see a company such as JD Wetherspoon express an interest in Louth and shall look forward to when it opens.

JD Wetherspoon have over 786 managed pubs up and down the country.

Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: ” We are delighted to have acquired Kai’s Bar Louth and look forward to redeveloping it and opening it as a Wetherspoon outlet in the coming months.”

JD Wetherspoon plans to invest £1.5 million redeveloping the site.
